Barcelona, Low Emissions Zone

On the first of January 2020, the Low Emissions Zone (ZBE) within Barcelona’s ring roads was launched. The ZBE is an area of more than 95 km2 which includes Barcelona and the closest municipalities to the ring roads, where traffic of the most polluting vehicles will gradually be restricted.

This is one of the municipal measures to ensure the quality of the air we breathe and guarantee the right to health in the city, and this implies certain restrictions on the most polluting vehicles or older vehicles.
